Gallery problems

Can't upload to the Gallery.  Goes through the motions and on the final "continue" get critical error message

Erf. Exact text of message would be helpful. I'll have a look.

Usual problems are caused by size and format, so knowing what sort of file you're uploading, and its size (both the actual file size and the dimensions of the image) will also help.

Doh, just read the "how big can files be"

Smaller was the answer

As a matter of interest, how big was the one you were trying to upload?

4538 x 3308 @ 6.4 meg

...which is about 15 mega pixels, and the software has to expand the image to make the thumbnails...

I'll have to see whether we can let the server use more memory...

Any chance you could email me the problem file so that I can test things, please?

I've flipped the image handling package. I think it may work now (as it worked when I tried...) Please try again.

Mick - why you trying to upload such massive files - can't you resize to something reasonable like 1024X768 or so..

Tried again and it worked fine.

I could, but that wouldn't keep breaking the Gallery 

I thought the biggest possible was the thing to do

Ugh. Sounds like some combination of memory and timing might be the problem, then. Glad it worked this time.
