very nice contrast, particularly through clouds. I went out earlier today but the clouds were patchy and making exposure difficult. I decided to wait a while and try again later. That was the last I saw of the sun. Oh well :sad: maybe tomorrow might be clearer...

Wow! It would be nice to show the spot in comparison with say Jupiter. I wonder if, with all this auroral activity, we should now keep a vigil on the evening sky for noctilucent clouds?

I thought noctilucent clouds were connected with periods of low auroral activity? Don't they usually appear most frequently near solar minimum?

Apparently there's been strong auroral activity associated with these latest spots.
