IC63 from DSC

Taken at Cairds on Thursday evening. 

I used my dual rig but this time with the WO on top of the ED80 which meant I had to move my finderguider back to the Skywatcher foot as no-where to mount it on top of the WO.  But I had ruined the rubber washer when I had previously removed it, so put it back together with a rubber band as a washer Lol.

I had balanced everything quite nicely, but when I focussed the two draw tubes came out sufficiently to unbalance the load which I couldn't adjust until the following day as it meant dismantling everything, so guiding was struggling a bit on Thursday. 

My first attempt at this object, I was quite surprised how faint and small it was, also very little data in Sii and hardly anything in Oiii. 

Two imaging cameras and scopes  HEQ5
A: WOZS71 + FR x 0.8/ Atik314L
B: SW ED80 + FR x 0.8/ Atik460

B: 6 x 900 Ha, 4 x 600 Oiii
A: 6 x 6000 Sii (I did some 600secs Ha on this camera as well but it was too faint to bother with).
Mapped HOS

Total imaging time = 2 hours 10 minutes

That's come out quite well considering the amount of subs, it's not a target I've tried. Just to check were they really 6000 second subs?

That's a very difficult subject and has come out rather well.  You have nicely controlled the main star and the nebulosity is excellent.

Well I imaged it a few times myself also but never being able to afford large CCD's (640X480 was my limit aka Philips Toucam Pro) - I always had the luxury of being able to place Gamma Cass outside FOV.... John

Well put it this way, as I was using two different scopes and cameras.  It came out well in one camera but not the other, so I only used the good one.

No it's the big bloddy bright star that was the problem...
