Orion in Trees - first ever attempt
Orion's belt and sword setting behind the trees. Bit behind processing this. A lot to learn, steep learning curve!

Canon EOS 650D. 20 images + 5 darks. 5 seconds at 55mm, f/6.3, ISO-6400. Stacked in DSS. Histogram and curve adjusted in Photoshop CS2.

Carole

Another well done Rachel, you seem to have got some of the processes under your (own) belt already.

Well done Rachel. Lovely wide field of the Orion nebula below the belt.

RachelC

Thank you Carole. I have lots of books and the internet is a great help :) Things are starting to make sense a bit more. I still have a long way to go though but am really enjoying the 'process'  :D

Thanks Kenny. I do love Orion. So much going on in there... Can't wait to image it again.

LOL Kenny.

Thanks to a lot of excellent advice from Duncan et al at Astrofest I am looking forward to trying it out very soon.

Nice shooting Rachel. Where did you take it? There seems to be a good horizon with not too much light pollution.

Thank you for your kind comments. I took this on the grounds at Sevenoaks Prep School.
