So, I have a 450D which has had the IR filter removed. So far this has served me just fine for my astro imaging and as yet have had no need or want to use it during the day (i don't even have any lenses), until now that is!

In 2 weeks i will be starting on a project that will take somewhere around 50+ hours spread over 6 months to complete and it occurred to me that a time laps of the whole thing would be quite fun.

I thought my DSLR would be ideal for this, except that everything will have a rather pink tinge to it.
I know that i can correct this using a custom white balance of a white wall or something similar, but how well does this work?

Will it be like the filter was never removed or very dependant on the light conditions at the time as to how well the colour is corrected?
Is there anything else that can be done to correct it?

Cheers
Jon

Why not just put an IR blocking filter on the front?

That would be the other option, but i don't have one and cant really afford to pay out much at all to get one.
I'm even going to be borrowing a lens as the cost of the project itself is going to pretty much clean me out....
