If you "cloned" your PC onto it, there could well be a hidden partition.

Before you plug it in, take a look at "My Computer" and see what drive letters you have.

Plug the external drive in and see what drive letters you now have.

I've forgotten how to delete a partition on an external drive

Mac

goto control panel,
select administrator tools
select computer management
once that opens click on disk management
that will show you all the drives connected, and all the partitions on each of the drive, it will be easy to see if there is a hidden partition
If there is you can right click on that partition and assign it a drive letter or format it or delete it or anything else
Its crude, but it works..

Can you amalgamate partitions rather than delete them?

Carole

Mac

Directly No.

Indirectly yes.

You have to copy over the stuff from partition two into partition one,
delete partition two and then resize partition one.
