While Rose and I were in the depths of Dorset on holiday, Rose heard something on the wireless....... oops, sorry, ........ radio... about a new supernova in the constellation of the Big Dipper/Plough/ Great Bear.  It was supposed to have occured in the "handle" of the Dipper, in or about early September.  But we had rain, fog and cloud and so we missed it .......... if it occured.

     Could somebody enlighten us, please?

     Doug.

Aye, the media were, as they so often are, a few weeks behind on the science news. ;)
