Gamma Cygni and surrounding nebulosity from last night.
21 x 5min modified Canon EOS 350D on Tak Epsilon 180ED with CLS filter
The sky was good - Milky Way was quite clear and was still just visible down to 10 degrees above the South horizon.

This is a just a very quick pre-process to decide whether or not to take more subs.

Don't know this area Mark, but looks stunning.  If this is quick pre-process, what will the final job look like??

Carole,

It's the same region of sky as Fay's recent IC1318.  Sometimes also known as the Butterfly Nebula.

I can't believe it is only a work in progress!!!!

Great result Mark as usual.  I must admit I'm surprised that you're using a CLS filter with skies like that.

I'm looking forward to seeing the final result.

Ah yes, looks so different in colour and slightly different FOV.

As usual Mark looking very good indeed. I am loving the colours. The image scale & FOV looks almost identical with Fay's. It would be really interesting to try & combine your data with her Ha data to see what evolves.... :-)

Really good as usual,

John.

I think I will hook the Canon up with the lens & see what I get. It is such a massive area

Mark, yes, more subs, get on with it  ;)

Very nice, is this destined to be one of your 8 hour projects ?

I may return to it sometime.  But last night I was imaging something completely different.  But I fell asleep at 12:30 am and didn't re-awaken until 3:30am - luckily the scope didn't collide with the mount.

I prefer the colours of the reprocess, but it looks like you're picking up some dark halos round the larger stars.

My apologies - Eyes appear to be working correctly now
