Wasn't quite sure where to put this, but as it arose from a meeting, I have put it here.  Did any of you buy Stuart Clark's book The Sun Kings?

I bought it and read most of it at Rother Valley.  What an interesting read it was too, all the history of how they discovered about the Sun's magnetism, Solar Flares, CME's the solar wind, sun spots and aurora, Spectroscopy and fraunhofer lines etc etc and all the people who'd poo poo'd discoveries on the way.  Very gripping and informative.

Also of interest was the fact that William Hershel's son John Hershel (also famous for much of this work), died in Hawkhurst, just down the road from Rother Valley.
