Plan To Change Britain's Clocks Abandoned

The move, would have brought the country into line with the rest of Europe, has not been included in a new tourism strategy, despite expectations that it would be.

Tourism Minister John Penrose said the Government's position is that the proposal to introduce longer daylight hours is an interesting idea, but that any change would need the consent of the whole of the United Kingdom.

Having given it some thought, I've decided that, at least in the summer, it doesn't really change too much from a imaging point of view. You're still not going to get astronomical darkness and the choice changes from staying up very late to getting up very early. As for the winter, you'd be able to image from midnight through till the middle of the morning. That doesn't sound too bad either....
