Usualy a very good meeting. I'm planning to go up by train as it gives an oppotunity to imbibe with a pint or two of old toad. If you fancy going then let me know and we can arrange a meet. If you have a Rail Gold Card the ticket isn't going to break the bank. last time I went about 3 years ago the ticket was about £14.

From the BAA website...

This takes place on Saturday March 7th at the Humfrey Rooms, Castilian Terrace (see the following link for directions http://www.nnhs.info/general/location.htm). The provisional programme includes the following: Project Cygnus by Nick Hewitt, 21st century visual astronomy by Dale Holt, A demonstration of on-line data base and chart searching by Owen Brazell, the future of amateur supernova hunting by Tom Boles, H-alpha imaging plus behind Apollo by Gordon Rogers, measuring double stars by John McCue and massive stars in the nearby universe by Dr Lucy Hadfield - a talk based on her recent Ph.D research at Sheffield University.

Admission to the meeting is £7 (payable at the door) which includes refreshments throughout the day and a leisurely buffet lunch with time for socialising. Northampton is a relatively central location, both north / south and east / west, and is well served by road and rail connections, with frequent trains from London and plenty of car parking. Display material is welcome from Section members and both the BAA sales stand and the Webb Deep Sky Society will be present. Doors will open at 9.30am with tea and coffee available from 10.00 and the meeting starting at 10.30. All BAA members and their friends are welcome.
