Crater Birt

This is was taken the same night as my Mars image (16 Jan 2008) but using eyepiece projection.  It was a 15mm eyepiece in the C11 and I took 8 frames of 1 sec at ISO 200 with the Canon EOS300D.  Stacked using Registax, wavelets applied then 4x4 binned.

I haven't quite finished processing it yet, but since Birt got a mention last night I thought I'd put this one up.  Birt is almost central in the frame with the famous straight wall Rupes Recta to its right. 

There's an annoying remnant of dust above Birt, just to the left of Rupes Recta - it survived the sigma stacking that killed most of the rest.  Eyepiece projection seems to display the dust with huge contrast !
