This target was NOT on my planned list to do, but this was on a night when the Mount would not GOTO anything, and after creeping across the sky star hopping I managed to find Sadr and some nebulosity, so rather than waste any more of the clear night, decided to stop there and image what I could and I had no idea which bit of the Butterfly I was going to acquire.

I therefore had the most unsuitable of cameras on the scope which was planned for a different target.  so I only have a small section of this nebula.  Not particularly attractive on its own.

do you do flats for your OIII and SII?
It is healthier to be mutton dressed as lamb, than mutton dressed as mutton!

Carole

Yes I do them for all the filters.  Olly says no need if you have an enclosed filterwheel, but I always take them just in case.

Mac

you need to take flats for all of your filters,
you never know what junk is on your filter itself,
