Thanks for those, Mick. Looks to me like an overloaded database server. Hosting provider is investigating...

Mac

QuoteAh. Chrome being its usual uninformative self. Oh well...

I had the same but i then changed to Internet explorer, Exactly the same,
just timed out with no error messages.

However i did have part of the site up, just the framework, no graphics

Didnt log the time, sorry

Mac.

It is healthier to be mutton dressed as lamb, than mutton dressed as mutton!

Mike

It is atrocious right now (20:40).

Barely usable.

It is getting worse day by day.

Just received the following from the hosting company...

QuoteOver the last few days we have been experiencing performance and uptime issues affecting Chronos, the server you are hosted on.

To resolve these issues the server will be taken down for maintenance at 1am on Saturday 3rd May for around 1 hour. This will involve:

***(I've removed a list of stuff - Rick)***

You won't need to change anything on your account or website due to the above, your websites will continue to work as normal but the performance will be greatly improved.

We apologise for the issues we've been having with this server but are confident the changes being made will significantly improve both performance and reliability.

Right now and for the last hours the website and forum have been as good as useless. 5-10 minute periods when the website is down completely and then when it's back up 10-20 seconds for links to work and things to download.

Seriously, why are we putting up with this? Considering moving to another hosting company would cost us less than £50 and about 30 mins work to set it up again why do we keep tolerating this shoddy service from the current provider?

Site was dire first thing this morning.  Took ages to get in and then when I did I couldn't open threads.  Gave up and came back later.

Rick

What times?

(My monitoring doesn't show any issues this morning, and it's been fine every time I looked today, but I was out for a while earlier.)

Carole

Should have taken a note of it, but it was around 8.50 to 9.30 ish.
