Jupiter three ways

As usual, i was impatient & only got one moon.

the two mono were taken with SW150, DMK, 60fps, x2 Barlow, 480frames, IC Capture, stacked with Autostakkert.

The colour one, which looks a bit smoother, SPC, 10fps, SW150, x2 barlow, IR filter, 480 frames, Sharpcap, stacked with Autostakkert

Looks like Jupiter is on the cards for next weeks talk 

I think there is a problem with the stacking of your colour image,
It appears that you have a ghost image, if you look at the top of the image,
roughly 12 o clock position and 1 o clock, it looks like you have another image
inside as if its stacked a few images off set,
You can see the distinct edge of jupiter and then a faint band extending just above the main edge,

Good capture though.

perhaps i did the stacking box's too big. i think they are not supposed to overlap the disc

It could be a misregistration.  On the other hand it might just be an artifact of the wavelet deconvolution.  I know that I, also, get this frequently on my planetary images.

Good detail Fay.

Registax I find is not brilliant at getting images registered, I sometimes stack data from 2 different AVIs, which have not moved hardly at all I put a square align box around both and end up with 2 Jupiters in different parts of the stacked image, not even overlapping sometimes.  I have had this a number of times even with the sun I get overlapping Suns.  Even using Registax 6 and align points.

Fay, have you thought of combining the mono image with the colour one i.e. LRGB

Very good Fay - the first B&W one does it for me - like mac pointed out there are ghosting issues with the colour one...
