Pulse guiding test

Quick test of pulse guiding with EQMOd - only 180 sec exposures but seem to work OK. NGC457 is quite a nice cluster (looks good in colour) - aka Owl cluster...

Not too shabby eh John :)

Is it my eyes or does the collimation need tweeking a tad ?

Well its an ED80 so not sure how I would do that...

No it's not collimation it's a guiding issue.

If the RMS guiding error in the DEC direction doesn't match the RMS guiding error in the RA direction then you will get elongated stars.  The stars in this NGC457 image are uniformly elongated right across the FOV.

PHD2 reports the guiding error in both the RA and DEC directions.

just downloaded it.. Out of interest is PHD2 the same as PHD v1.14..? I can't find any reference to PHD2...? John
