Debayering a DSLR's Bayer Matrix

not a bad article, but as the matrix is actually glued (if that is the correct word) onto the main CCD,
it would be very very easy to destroy the CCD,

Only for the foolhardy or the brave i think.

There are companies around that will do it completely and with a guarantee, but at a price.

He attacked his CCD with a WHAT!!! 
Surely it would be almost impossible to polish it off perfectly evenly, and like Mac said very easy to cause damage! Dwell so much as a single second too long and it's a gonna! In fact you can see from one of the images he has posted it has a FAR from even finish.
Also if the matrix is an actual film of some sort glued into place then it must take a fair about of abrasion to polish it off, this would result in very localised heating of possibly very high temperatures only made worse by using a "pointy" polishing mop....
And as a final point, the way i understand a CCD works is each pixel has a tiny little lens on the front to focus the light to the right place, this also must take a beating!
There is a long list of things that could go wrong or get damaged.....
I would say the only way to safely remove the matrix would be to go down the solvent route!

I believe Mark found a company that were selling modded cameras some time ago  but I think the consensus was not worth the grief or expense.
