Unfortunately in my ongoing clear out I sold all my DB9 Serial to USB converters but now I find myself needing one.  If anybody has one knocking around unused that I could borrow for a couple of days or buy off them then I'd be very grateful.

Many thanks

I've got an FTDI one you can borrow/buy, or a 4 port Prolific. I'm in tomorrow if you want to come and get it.

Windows 7...

I'm out of work so have time to kill so might be able to pop over Duncan, probably PM.   Unless I decide to buy the extortionate maplin one.  Is yours native USB2 or 1.1 ?

Thanks v.much

The Thing

Good question. The Prolific is definitely USB 2.0 compliant.

Rocket Pooch

FTDI for Windows 7, you might have a bad experiance with Prolific.

RobertM

Duncan lent me his 4way Prolific converter and the only dodgy thing I can see is that it shows up as having 5 ports.  Seems to work other than that though.

Any particular problems you're aware of ?

If it recognises it you are ok, just check the driver to ensure sleep is not on.

Are you sure one port isn't the EQDIR? They use Prolific chips.

Good thinking Batman, that could be.  I was in a rush so didn't check too deeply (at all)!

Thanks for the tip Chris, I'll check that one out.
