Rosette Nebula NGC 2244, 29 Nov 2011

Here is last night's Rosette, NGC 2244.

As usual, H-alpha modified Canon 350D on Tak Epsilon 180ED.  This time with CLS and IR/UV filters.
59 x 5 min at ISO 800  (out of 72)
6 x 150sec at ISO 400 (out of 12)
Passing high level cloud made some of the subs unusable.

I'm finally getting a chance to image last Winter's target list!

Now that is smooth Mark, I can't see any noise at all. 

Was just thinking maybe you could bring out a bit more contrast, though we all have our own preferences.

I know what you mean about the passing cloud, I have to discard some of my subs from last night too.

I have to agree with Carole.  Maybe a tinge more contrast and perhaps lighten the background a tad to bring out more of the surrounding nebulosity if the image can take it.  Even so it's still very good with nice sharp stars across the image.

I left my system imaging this the other night but there must have been a sharp drop in temperature after I left it as nearly all the subs were defocused

Lovely Rosette Mark, I would also say a slight lighten on the background, but we all have different tastes

I think I prefer the first version Mark from the background point of view.

The first is best for me also.  To my eyes the second looks a little anaemic by comparison (rightly or wrongly)...
