Well done Mac - Congrats & a great image. You need to change the footer in your messages now... :-) My preference is top image the bottom looks a tad oversharpened to me.

Deep sky here we come...!!!!!!!

Yes! no more Mac generated weather, well done.

Nice first light images, Mac, worth the wait and the agro. Here's hoping the weather stays clear so you can get down to some deep sky

Well done Mac, no stopping you now.

As first I preferred the first one, but now I am thinking the 2nd one looks sharper.
Eye of the beholder I guess.

Mac

The first one is a raw image, no processing.

The second on is a stack of 20, with some wavelets applied,
it is sharpened but not that much.
Might have a play later on.

PS Just need to sort out the condensation now.

Mac, they advise you to wipe the dome ledge before opening the dome if it's wet.  As mine is right up against the fence and shed that's more difficult for me so I open it a little bit at a time to give the water time to run off.

I have a dehumidifier running in the Observatory and it works well.  I now have it on permanent drainage so I don't have to keep emptying the tray, which also means it doesn't switch off when it's full.

Great first light Mac, the Ha version looks nice and crisp.
