A not very good Mars

Not too good, but Mars was in the middle of a tree for most of the time. Captured with DMK and 6" Mak Cass, no barlow as too much movement


It is healthier to be mutton dressed as lamb, than mutton dressed as mutton!

Fay, I don't think the tree has helped the detail but it's still very good.  It's certainly much better than my attempt last year without a tree. 

Any chance of some capture details?

I agree with Robert Fay, I think the tree has significantly affected the SNR.

However, my advice would be to add more tree. Lots more. Then go download a Hubble image off the internet.

Why was there too much movement? Wind or mount problems?

Which evening did you take it Fay?  And what time?

I can't see the image from work - it's on a blocked site.

Last night, Mark, it was quite low, around 7pm
