If anyone else has a Baader Alan Gee II Telecompressor (Mark!) please note I have just removed mine from the scope and it was all fogged up between the lens elements.

The mistiness is now clearing as the unit warms up in the house and I will be keeping a small silica gel sack in it's tube from now on! This may explain why images I thought I had focused carefully were soft

Good idea.

I gave up using my Alan Gee because it was a bit too fiddley and gave results no better than the Celestron reducer.
