Bother. What error code did my test site throw at you? 404? 403? Something else? What time did you try?

I don't think it's your computer causing the trouble. I suspect an upload limit or a memory limit in the PHP configuration at the hosting company. I can twiddle the settings on my test site to find out what's needed, but there's no evidence in my logs that your system attempted to connect to it...

Rick

Hmmm... Looks like something's happened to the CNAME pointing at the test site. I've submitted a ticket asking for it to be fixed.

Rick

Looking at the files that have made it into your directory on the gallery, I'm leaning towards suspecting an upload limit in PHP which is lower than the one set in the gallery (which is 30,000KB) ...

Mac

Ok, I've tried again, uploading to the gallery.
My pc time was 13:07.
again it failed.

I've retried your link, but this time the link seems to be working.
My local pc time for uploading this file was 13:09.
This time it worked.

Mac.

It worked in the sence that it uploded the file, allowed me to add data and said everything was fine.
BUT, now i cant find the file if i search for it on the gallery. even by file name!

Rick

Good. The DNS changes needed to fix the test site must have made their way out.

When I'm logged in I can see the file in the "Raw Data Files" album in the "Instruments and Data Files" section of the test gallery. That suggests the problem is a limit in the hosting company's PHP. I'll see what can be done.

Rick

The PHP upload limit on the main gallery has been increased. You should now be able to upload the file there.

Mac

Yup, workes like a treat now.
Cheers

Just uploaded 4 photos of the High Elms event today.  Put them in a folder "Events" and they've disappeared into the ether.

OK. Seems we're stuck between a rock and a hard place. Use GD to re-size images, and anything over a certain size goes bang. Use ImageMagick to re-size images, and anything animated goes bang.

For now, ImageMagick is selected. It will allow large images to be processed, but it will cough on animated gifs.

Carole, you should now be able to upload your images OK.
