I took this photo with my Olympus Mu mini digi-camera from an upstairs window.  I say that, as I am going to try to put it on the Forum, having not done that before, and if it dosn`t appear, I`m sorry and will try again. So here goes:-

nice pic Doug :)

To make the picture appear, there were a couple of things I needed to change.  The correct start of the link is "http://", you had a semicolon and one /. Then select the whole of the link from before http to after .jpg and then press the image button which is the first one on the left in the middle row of buttons above the box where you type your message into. It's got this picture on it. This will then put img tags around the link so the server knows to show the image rather than just the link.

Thanks Ian, for the edit.  I have noted your instructions to this ancient warrior and, as they used to say when I was at school, ..."will try to do better next time".  And thank you, Mike.  I obviously mis-typed your instruction for the link, but iwll do better next time.  Much appreciated to all you teachers.

     `Umble Doug!! ;)

no worries Doug. The day they come up with a computer that can say, "it's not quite right, but I know what you mean", I'll be out of a job.

It is healthier to be mutton dressed as lamb, than mutton dressed as mutton!

I can't see it either, I've done a right click and properties and think I have the URL address, so i'll have a go at posting it.

I hope that works.

Don't worry Doug I had a lot of problems trying to post images on the forum to start with, but it's easy when you know how, it's just findings out what you did wrong that takes the time.

thanks
Carole

Ian

nowt to do with that Carole. I don't know why you and Fay can't see it...

Carole

Well it still didn't come up using the copied URL address and putting it between (img)(img) so can any-one else do it?

That is really strange because if I click on your link I get Doug's image
(Nice picture Doug by the way)

But if I copy it into my browser it says the address is invalid.

It is the same address that I put between (img)(img) so what's going on?

Carole

Mac

Carol Its not the same link.
The link on the images has one to many / at the beginning.

Ians link is the correct address.

http://www.amateur-astronomy.org/Images/032.jpg

the one posted by doug is

http:///www.amateur-astronomy.org/Images/032.jpg

Just re-edit the link and remove one of the / inbetween the Http: and WWW

Ian

well that's an odd one. You're right Mac. I didn't notice I'd added an extra / mostly because I could see the image embedded. It's now fixed. Clearly my browser said "well that's not correct, but I know what you're getting at".

Might explain why I don't have a job ;)

Rick

Nice piccie, Doug. Looks fine from here. ;)
