I'm planning on using the guide port on my Art, this appears to be accessed in Maxim by using the "main relays" option.

I don't want to be tied to just Maxim, so does anyone know of any other guiding software that will use that port rather than a parallel interface like the shoestring (I'm not planning on using the Art to guide, that'd be extra silly)?

Mike

Astro Art would probably do it. Why not just use Maxim?

will do. I'm just wondering, if I can't get my head around maxim, what my options are...

Rocket Pooch

you don't want to use AA if you can't use DL, mind you image capure it better in AA but the guiding setup is easy in Maxim.

Does your mount support ascom you could allways pulse guide?

Ian

It does use ASCOM, but the Skysensor uses the LX200 protocol. I'm not sure how complete an implementation of that protocol it is. I think the LX200 guide commands used are not documented by Meade either apparently. It'll be suck it and see. All else fails, I'll either buy or build a shoestring plugged into the parallel port, but I won't get that sorted by DSC.

Mike

Guiding in MaximDL is incredibly easy. I'll show you at DSC.
