300mm SLR lens and Artemis 285. IR block only, stack of 10x40sec subs.

Post-processing, histogram stretch only.

There got to be way of getting a gag in here somewhere. I'm sure it's elementary...

Interesting to see that it's definitely no longer quite round. I had a look last night and it seemed to me that it was definitely fainter and more difuse than it was on Monday.

I like that one Ian - There is a distinct core and tail.

Ian - nice image.... Am I reading this correct - did I see Artemis 285....!!!!! You kept that quiet - When did you get it by all accounts a great camera.... Have you given up on the SC3..?

Cheers,  John.

Ian

the SC3 is now going to be my guide camera. It might get one more rebuild, but I just could not get rid of the noise. Going to have a go at guiding next.

Imaging with the Art285 is very different to imaging with the SC3, and now I can't blame the equipment...

Great - I've always looked at those closely myself & been very tempted once or twice to buy one (just a bit out of my budget) - did you get it 2nd hand - I'm guessing so as I don't think they are available anymore...

Cheers,  John

Ian

I don't believe you can get them anymore, but the Atik16HR is the same camera.

This was one of the kit ones, but the guy who was selling it is known to QCUIAG community and I had little concern it was put together well.
