This is an often overlooked faint dust and reflection nebula in the constellation of Scorpius.  It is very near the more colourful Antares nebula to the south east.
The nebula is bathed in blue light from the star Nu Scorpii (Arabic name Jabbah).  The nebula is actually quite bright at magnitude 3 and about 420 light years from away.  Documented size is 150 x 60 arcmin.

Envy envy.  I tried to image this from DSC but didn't get much time on it and it's not a patch on this one.

Great image especially for just over 2 hours, just goes to show how good the skies are out there.  Wow you took a telescope and mount with you.

Thank you Carole.  I had planned to get a lot more time on this but 'Cloudy Nights' were many.  Yes I took a mount and telescope; the mount and tripods went in the with the hold luggage (a 25kg bag) and the rest either went in my cabin bag (10kg) or backpack (not far off 10kg) - quite a weight in all.  Last time I went to Tenerife I took the AM5 and Samyang but this time I took the smaller and lighter AM3.

When the skies were clear they were great but nothing is as unpredictable as the weather!

Very nice Robert. At least you got a pic!

Thanks all

I've added a touch more saturation to this version to bring out the brown dust a bit more:
