The Jokes page, the jokes wiz by very fast. Might be an idea to just slow them down a bit.

Heq5 equipment page there is no image of the equipment.
Dont know if its missing or there wasnt an image.

St. Francis of Assisi Church Hall, might benefit of a google map link of where the hall is.

Sky notes page has three black images.
I've slowed the jokes page down a bit.

The HEQ5 page doesn't seem to have an associated image. All the other ones do...

Google maps interface is a pay-per-month product these days, if you want to embed maps in your site. You can get away with a few on a private website, but when Google start sending complaints about not having an account it can automatically debit... (I took the maps links out a few years back.)

The Sky Notes havn't had a "featured image" assigned to them. I've turned the image display off for now. If the upload process starts adding images then the image display can be turned back on (and the page will look a little more interesting).

Can always attach a home made map drawing.

Can you not get around the google map by just having a link to the actual map?

i.e.

https://www.google.es/maps/@38.7671498,0.1916509,2950m/data=!3m1!1e3?hl=en-GB

Or do they monitor for that as well?

Mac.

Rick

No, that's probably possible. Just a case of adding it to the description.

Anyone got other preferred mapping options?

ApophisAstros

Sat Nav in the car should suffice for anyone who has it.

On the RHS of the screen you can find "share" button. Maps can be shared as links like one above or exported as pictures .png, .jpeg, .pdf etc.
Also other options available like layers, markers etc.

Rick

Yes, I'd expect the plugin to handle that. I'm looking for something that'll work for all the locations we have defined so far (or at least all the ones we're using), without having to edit them all. Bonus points for also generating a map with more than one location marked...

It's looking not that un-promising.

... considering astronomers are a scietific bunch of people...
Why not to use proper grid coordinates?

I've enabled an OpenStreetMap plugin which will add a map to the location descriptions. Mostly, the map will just be centred on the location. For a few locations I have added a pointer.

Please let me know if this doesn't work on whatever device and browser you're using.

Rick

I've split out all the Google/Amazon/whatever stuff and moved it to Chat...
