Hugh

Had a good day out with some neighbours yesterday and then got back in time for a sit in the garden and a couple of drinks.  As we sat there Jupiter came out and drew attention from one of my neighbours and 'What's that star' became 'Gosh that's Jupiter'.

So out came the telescope and a moments comment became a back garden Outreach looking at Jupiter and Saturn.  Jupiter was a bit wobbly in the heated atmosphere but really quite clear and a good 4 moons with 3 close in and 1 a little way out.  That brought a couple of 'Wow's' from my neighbours.  Saturn was a little lower down and came in and out of focus a bit as we were looking through a lot more warm atmosphere and, of course, the rings did their job and my neighbours were hooked!

Next decent Moon they are coming back for another session!

Astronomy at its best ~ two converts ~ fun and a pleasure!

Best and clear skies
