NGC1333 and lots of dust

NGC1333 taken with H-alpha modified Sony A7S on Takahashi Epsilon 180ED.

360 subs of 30sec at ISO 10000 making 3 hours of total integration time.  I think it needs more exposure time to reduce the noise a bit.  On the left hand side you can see the start of that patch of nebulosity between IC1985 and NGC 1333.  Maybe I ought to extend this into a mosaic.

As usual a lovely image from yourself and the A7S, even the larger version shows a lot of detail on NGC1333.  You can't see the noise until you look at the very largest version.

Was this done with a bright Moon, or did you take it a while ago?

It was taken 2 October i.e. the Sunday night of Kelling but at home.

Superb - Like you say a tad 'noisy' but I'd take it ;-) Amazing that there is just so much stuff up there.. Another image for the book I think.. John

Amazing to see so many takes on the same data... All look fantastic - I personally prefer the first where the processor has pushed the nebulosity & smoothed background but at expense of some colour (but I am a B&W person) - now if you could combine that with yours I'd say it would be perfect... Shan't bother processing myself as I am so out of practice wouldn't know where to start.. :-(

Agreed - I find it quite fascinating how each individual approach to the processing method leads to a whole variety of different results.

The differences are either due to the processing method adopted or some kind of artistic interpretation or a mixture of both.

I have a go at it yesterday from the download, but my computer was playing up and so had to abandon it.  But the results as far as I got were not as good as yours.
