M31 HaLRGB reprocess

Being a bit bored with all this cloud I did a bit of experimenting with old data.

I decided to combine my old DSLR data from 2011 with the luminance I got at Blacklands with the Atik383 in August 2013 and the Ha data I got from home in early 2014.  I've struggled a bit in the past with combining Ha highlights in galaxies, but finally I got it to work. 

DSLR was with the ED80 about 2 1/2 hours taken at High Halden
CCD was with the WOZS71 as was the Ha, 3h 20mins Ha + 1 h 40mins Lum

Now you're asking, I'll have to check all this old data and hopefully I kept a record..........

DSLR = 31 x 5mins
Lum = 12 x 500secs (no idea why I did 500secs)
Ha seems like I did various lengths, some were 600 secs some were 900secs and some were shorter (core?), I just used the final stack (whatever that was).

wow 5min RGB, I would have thought the core would have been saturated with that.

At least I have one picture for the presentation now!

Very nice & expertly processed. Out of interest what s/w did you use for combining/ aligning all the subs - I'm different fields of view from all the different cameras etc.

Ivor I would have done shorter subs for the core as well, I always do that with this target and also M42, it's just as it's 4 years ago I didn't record it all but it was most likely 30secs.

Thanks John.  I always use Registar for registering the different filters and images using different cameras & scopes, it's a brill bit of software.

Combining filters and images I do manually in photoshop.
