Tried a couple of earlier versions with no joy, still crashes on loading.

Definitely caused by W7 update and sys. restore doesn't sort it - When MS break something they want it to stay broke

That's the great thing about XP - they've stopped updating it!

Sorely tempted to ditch W7 and install XP - Unfortunately means reinstalling all my other software though

I still have  a white screen coming up. google is around, because i can get in via internet explorer.
