CME IMPACT: As expected, a CME hit Earth's magnetic field today (Feb. 27th @ 1645 UT), and the impact has triggered geomagnetic storms around Earth's poles.  The CME is an after-effect of the X4.9 class solar flare reported on Feb. 25th.  Visit http://spaceweather.com for updates about this developing space weather event.

I'm on an aurora alert website register and was even sent an email a couple of days ago to say this was coming... And I clean forgot! (More to do with the fact the last one I got send was Northern Scotland only.)

By the sounds - it may still be visible tonight....

Thick cloud at the moment... Were our skies the same last night? (Hopefully it was and didnt miss anything!)

Fingers crossed for our visit to Iceland coming up at the beginning of April.

I looked out the back facing north, and saw red sky between the trees. i thought how weird to see a sunset in the north! I went to the front, and it was not red out there,  did not realise what it was.

Now if it had been green.......
