Curves and the eyedropper tool

i am trying use curves & click the eyedropper but it does not come up, instead i have a small circle with a line coming out all sides. does anyone know how to get the eyedropper back, thanks

My photoshop is broken at the moment so I can't check, but I think you've got the wrong "tool" selected before you open Curves.
Try selecting the magnify tool or something before opening curves

Click on the pointy arrow on the tool box on the right.
