Ian

and the horsehead that you appear to have failed to mention...

Just out of interest, when do you sleep exactly? Do you have a hammock in the office?

What size is the CCD in that camera, the field is pretty wide for a 500mm lens.

Oh, and well done! You've gone and raised the bar again on the society's skill level, I think maybe some guerilla action on the electricity supply to your house should allow the rest of us to catch up

Whitters

I should add that they were taken with the moon 50% illuminated inthe sky too.

Rocket Pooch

We are not worthy!

Can I also see a wee horses head in the picture as well?

Anyway absolutely brilliant images, I'm very very impresses.

I think you have just thrown the glove down for Ian

Rick

Was that Toucam-captured?

Whitters

No, It was using the Starlight Express and a 500mm photographic mirror lens

Rick

Ah. Right. Looks good.

Has anyone done any qantitative comparisons  of image resolution between webcam-type capture systems and custom astronomical image capture systems?

Just seemed to me that these images were really nice and crisp.
