Hi,

Ok M101 LRGB from Friday night at New Romney, I need to process this again at sometime, but not now I'm happy with thin at the moment.

12x5 minute subs L, 6x5 minute subs RGB, probably could have done with 12x 10 minute on the L if I were to be honest, but it was a new scope and I did a bit of a blitz on imaging :-)  No light pollution filters and the campsite light was on.

Rob, the core of the galaxy was 5k ADU the sky reading is 1403.  The scope was an Orion Optics 150mm F5 1/6th newtonian, guided in K3CCD tools using the DMK camera and imaged with an Atik 314L.

Chris - that is pretty amazing considering the relatively short subs - scope looks great & it must have been dark if that was without any filters.. I reckon if you added some 10min ha subs from Mottingham that would be brilliant..

Nice image Chris. I like the structure in the dust lanes. With a bit more processing to enhance those Ha areas that will be superb.

I like that one Chris.  You've captured a lot of depth in those arms.

Looks like the new scope is performing well.  Is the CCD directly at the focal plane or are you using a coma corrector?

Thanks guys for the comments, I think the colour is out a bit, but I'll sort that and the noise out later.

There is no coma corrector, but it does need one, so I'm going to get one next week for my b-day, then this should be a good imaging scope.

Think you are right Chris - It looks a little bit too purple....

Nice one Chris, from everything I've seen it looks like it'll be an excellent imaging scope.
