There are IR filters and IR filters

Hi,

Just to pickup from an observation John made about my filters and LRGB imaging and the question why does John suffer from Blue Bloat (thats in the B of the RGB, nothing to do with anything else).

I checked my IR filters, from Baader and they are IR and UV cutoff, the standard IR cut from astronomik does not have the UV and therefore that would explain the blue bloat.

Apparently you need an Astronomik L filter as an equivilent to the Baader IR/UV filter, apparently this is the one to use for RGB and is included within the RGB filter set.

ummm.. I was using my Astronomik Type II LRGB set so all the L's I took was with the Astronomik L...?
