HDR imaging

Just wondered if anyone here had tried HDR imaging with stacked images, I imagine it'd be quite an undertaking because you'd have to make stacks at multiple exposures, but once you had it you'd have one file with massive levels of detail in there, I might try it when i come to do M42 again since it's a prime candidate with all the burning out in the center and all that lovely nebulosity around the edges
