NGC2158...

OK - whilst I was waiting for the Eclipse last night I decided to try a star cluster in LRGB using the SC3 - My main objective was to see if I could record star colours. I choose NGC2158 in Gemini. This is a very old (over 1 billion years) open cluster that looks a bit like a globular - it's quite small & compact & features lots of old yellow/orange stars... It lies very close to the much large M35.

Exposure details were SC3 + MN56 - L consisted of 130 X 7 secs (no light pollution filter this time) - R,G,B was 40 X 7 secs each. I was quite pleased at depth for relatively short exposure & a full moon not far away. I also got some of the star colours...

looks good. I must admit, to me open clusters are great in binos but usually don't do much as an image. However, yours has changed my mind. There is real sense of depth there that is often lost in what can look like just a load of dots.

The colours look nicely rendered too, well worth the effort to image in LRGB.
