New web hosting for OAS

I have begun shifting OAS stuff from my home system into new web hosting at PowWeb. There may be periods when web links point in unexpected directions or find nothing.

Please let me know if anything gets broken along the way.

Step 1: The full gallery http://gal.orpington-astronomy.org.uk has moved.

Second step: http://www.orpington-astronomy.org.uk is now pointing at the new dynamic version of the website.

The old website is still available at http://www.chocky.demon.co.uk/oas/

You have worked really hard on the new site. Lots of interesting features. You have given the club a definate "personality"

A lot of the design work is Greg's. I'll be looking for volunteeers to help test out some new stuff that's in the works. OAS members only. Interested? Send me a PM.

Oops. Should have put a pointer in the old website to point to the new one sooner. It's there now.

Next weekend I plan to replace the old website with re-direction pages to force folks into the new site.

The old pages in my Demon home space have been replaced with re-direction pages to send visitors from the old site to the new one.

I think I have covered every necessary link, and put in appropriate changes where there isn't a new page with the same name.

If you spot one that doesn't work, or you spot errors in the new site, then please let me know!

Can we upload our own images to the gallery now...? If so how do we do it? Also what is the password access for on front page?

Any OAS members wishing to help try out a potential new gallery system please contact me (via email or PM). It won't be publicised until we're reasonably sure it does what we want. Until then, the old system remains available as an option.
