The Thing

Odd ringed galaxy Wikipedia entry with  giant elliptical neighbour 40 million light years away, NGC 5846. Needs a lot more data so its a bit noisy.

48x240s (3.2hrs)  Gain 121, Offset 4, Temp-5C
Image date, time and location:   2023-05-20, Manche, France
Telescope aperture and focal ratio:   TS Classical Cassegrain 8" f12
Camera and filters used:   ZWO ASI294MC Pro, Svbony UV/IR 2"
Processing applied:   Pixinsight, Affinity Photo 2.1

That middle barred galaxy looks like a real challenge, I had a look on line and apart from ones imaged at professional telescopes, I didn't see any great results. 

Presume you are planning on getting some more data.  Perhaps a faster telescope might mkae it easier.

But never the less, it is a good achievement. 

The Thing

Thanks Carole, it was a terrible imaging night as well, windy and intermittent high 'mist' messing with transparency. One to be revisited on a more benign occasion.
