Cone, Fox fur and Christmas Tree Nebulae (new colour) NGC2264)

Although I was pretty happy with my previous image, i was never really happy with the resulting colour, so I had another "go" at it today and now we have a RED version instead of Pink.

Taken from Dave's back garden in Swanley Bortle 6 since I have a big tree in the way at Home in Bortle 8. I took Oiii and Sii but it did not add anything to the colour, so as I had already taken some RGB as well, "just in case" I processed HaRGB

RGB 9 x 150secs binned each
Total imaging time 5 3/4 hours

I prefer this re-processed version.

By the way, bright pink (but not salmon pink) is the natural colour of HII emissions because of the fixed ratios of the H-alpha, H-beta, H-gamma emissions.  That's why unmodified cameras always produce pink.  They become redder as more and more H-alpha is mixed into the image.

Here is a 50/50 image of the Red and Pink versions, so the colour is halfway between.
