Just the luminance processed badly (star bloat etc) from La Palud-Sur-Verdon.  It desperately needs some colour :(

36 x 300s luminance with Borg 77EDII@f/4.3 and SX-H694 camera:

It doesn't look the same without colour, does it?

Did you shoot any?

The Borg has certainly given nice tight stars.

Hi,

I know your critical about your images, it has a little rotation and I wonder if you have pushed the backgroud a little there's some noise.

But the stars seem better than I expected at the edges, although the bright stars seem to have some optical dispersion.

Not bad though :-)

Robert - that looks really good especially considering all the issues you had with adaptors & focus & god knows what else. I am loving the dust lanes - thousands of stars as well. Like you said this one is crying out for some RGB to do it justice.

that has come out well Robert, that ghost is reluctant to expose too much of itself

Mark, no I haven't got colour - I'll have to go somewhere dark in the UK for that.  I concentrated on Luminance for the trip and struggled somewhat to nail the focus each time.

Chris, not sure it's rotation.  I think it's either the super reducer or the doublet needing collimation - I think I'll get the doublet checked as that's much cheaper then the 7704 reducer alternative !

Fay, Robert in french, somewhat surprisingly is Robert (though said with a strange accent)
