Fancy your chances at processing an image or two?

Take some data from ESO's archives, process it into a fantastic image and potentially win a great prize!

Adding diffraction spikes is against their rules ;-)

Something to do on those rainy November nights ...

I've downloaded some data from the WFI (Wild Field Imager) taken with assorted filters - 14 FITS files in total.  Each one is 138Mbytes after unzipping.  But each FITS file contains eight 2142x4128 sub-images because the imager is a mosaic of 8 CCDS.  And each sub-image looks like a battlefield - loads of hot pixels, hot columns and blooming from bright stars.

A big challenge but I'm sure IRIS will cope!

HINT:  When searching for images in their database don't look for objects that can only be seen from the northern hemisphere.  I made that mistake

I guess I'll have a go, I remember downloading some Hubble data and it made my camera look error free, but hey thats life I guess.
