Veil Supernova Remnant in Ha

I took this over the latter part of last week.  The skies started off not too bad but ended up about mag 3-3.5; consequently the background ADU level was over 800 with over half the subs being too bright to use.  As you can see it was a tight fit getting the faint outer shell and southern extensions in.



Exposure: 10 x 30min with Baader Ha 7nm filter, Finger Lakes ML 8300, Canon 200L lens@f/3.2
Darks/Bias/Flats calibrated and DDP processed in MaximDL with levels/curves in PS
Date: 8,9,10/07/2010
Guiding: Lodestar +Startravel 80

Robert, was not criticising. It was just that I found it hard to process mine because of the contrasting opaqueness of the nebula.

Fantastic image Robert - very nice FOV and good depth in the faint areas.

I hope you're going to turn this into a colour image  -it'll be stunning.

so long at you haven't taken many photos, the data can still be recovered from the memory card.
