I thought DSC was one of the best. There were so many people there & many scopes doing different things
.
It had a great comeraderie, sort of like the Klondike gold rush, with all the tents on top of each other & Mike dishing up the food, all sitting around having a laugh & enjoying & feeling at ease in each others company.

Ian

I think so too, fantastic fun.

If it gets any more popular, we'll need to find a bigger field...

Fay

Yes Ian, they only thing is, a lack of showers & a decent toilet!! After a while some people, especially myself,  start to deteriorate & look a bit rough!

Fay - Don't forget the sheep shit....! Don't get me wrong I don't mind the sheep but it really winds me up when I wake up in the morning & have got sheeps poop all down my trousers from the night before... :-( I'm actually curious as I'm sure the field is a bonafied 'Caravan Club' destination so should there be sheep in the field....?

Anyway at least there was a plus side - Chris didn't have to feed Frodo for the weekend..... yuk!!!!

I agree it was a great weekend with a brilliant turnout & some great images taken by people - I was really pleased to see new people starting to take images.

Thanks once again to Mike & Cris for the excellent curry.

Cheers,  John

There's a place-holder entry on the main website for DSC (and the previous DSC, and the COAA trips). Anyone care to add a report? Or three? Please? :)

Fay

Yes I think everyone was very at ease with everybody as there was a lot more farting & swearing this year!!!!!

Delphine

You didn't deteriorate and look as rough as I did Fay - I ended up in A&E !!  -  my husband Ian had to drive down to collect my tent and car!! - I had better bring him with me next time!

Thanks again to everyone who helped me.

Fay

Do you mean you had to go to hospital Delphine?

Delphine

Yes - Jim took me to Farnborough.  It happens every now and again.  I have the same heart problem as Tony Blair!

It was a hell of way to get to see the inside of Chris's caravan!!

Fay

I am really sorry, Delphine Hope you are recovered now.

Is it the same problem you had in Portugal?

Delphine

Thanks Fay - I am fine now.   Yes it is the same problem I had in Portugal.

Another good camp and some fine skies to go with it.
Delphine hope you're feeling better.
Hoped everyone enjoyed it, and may the DSC's to follow be better.

Once again another great DSC - I really enjoyed it. I counted a total of 17 telescopes on the Saturday night, which is a record. In fact I think it beats any Observing Session too.

I'll go along with all those comments.
Great company, great skies, and I managed to align my ETX accurately (sometimes works, sometimes doesn't) and got a good guided tour.

Wasn't aware that Delphine was taken ill, must have happened after I left.

One of the best DSC.
