ADDITIONAL DATE ADDED :-

This is for the astrophotographers or people interested in learning about astrophotography to get together and do some imaging. Anyone else who wants to come to watch and learn, or just do some observing is also welcome.

There will be a workshop on 'Image Calibration' This is the process of taking flat frames, dark frames, etc. in order to produce a cleaner image with a higher signal to noise ratio. If it is clear we will go outside and do some images afterwards.

Hot and cold drinks and nibbles will be provided.

Bring a sleeping bag if you are crashing overnight. Bring an extension lead if you need mains power. You are more than welcome to bring your own equipment along.

If it is cloudy the night still goes on as we usually have a presentation or a workshop on a subject related to astrophotography or astronomy in general.

If you need the address or my phone number then send me a PM.

Please note that any member is welcome, even if you have no equipment and just want to watch and learn.

Reminder about this session tonight.

I haven't had time to prepare a slideshow for tonight as my car was broken into yesterday and I spent far too much time talking to Police, the Insurance Company and the Garage and trying to organise a courtesy car so I can still drive down to the Boat Show in Southampton on Saturday.

Anyway, I will do my best to give a talk on Image Calibration and Fay wants a demonstration on how to do RGB stacks in MaximDL so I will be demonstrating that too.
