Doug it's owned by Elon Musk who also owns Tesla. He has a personal net worth of $12Billion. SpaceX has also signed contracts worth $5Billion so it is already very profitable. They have all the money they need.

This thing is real, they have already made (V1) and it's already been to the Space Station to carry cargo. This new version will carry passengers and will be doing a manned test flight in the next 2-3 years.
