The Event Horizon Telescope recently showed an image of the area of space around the black hole in M87. Back in 2011 I took an image of M87 and processed the image to bring out the relativistic jet emanating from the heart of M87.

The processing was rather harsh and you can see artifacts around the stars.

Excellent Paul 👍  I got a similar one when imaging Markarian's chain a few years ago:  https://www.astrobin.com/full/296977/0/?mod=&real=

M87 is at the bottom left of the field.  This jet is not particularly difficult to capture even from London.

Just looked at my Markarian Chain, but ir doesn't include M87 unfortunately.
