Title: FAQ: Smilies & highlighting text
Post by: Fay on Apr 22, 2008, 08:26:16
How do you put those smilies into a post? & how do you put highlighted text, from another post, in as well?

Thanks

The quoting is done more or less automatically if you pick the (http://forum.orpington-astronomy.org.uk/Themes/oas/images/buttons/quote.gif)Quote link rather than the REPLY link to reply to a post.

The highlighting can be done by highlighting the text in the editor and then clicking one of the buttons in the first line of the editor (the one starting with B). If you hover your cursor over those buttons you should get a short annotation to tell you what it does.

The smilies are presented in the third line of buttons in the message editor. Just click on one.  ;)

All these put BBcode into the message, and you can also just type out the BBcode yourself, but do use the Preview button to see what your reply will look like, because it's quite easy to make things look horrible...

Rick, I am re looking at the instructions to put highlighted top line in a post.

Ok, open post with "quote" unstead of "reply". What is, highlighting the text in the editor? Where is the editor?

Thanks,

Fay
